Swim Team Week 3
Hello Crestwood families!
We hope you all had a wonderful Fourth of July weekend and were able to get plenty of rest before our first meet tomorrow morning! We are doing everything we can to make sure that the meet goes well and would like to send out a huge thank you in advance to all our parents and volunteers.
We wanted to correct some of the information we sent out in our last update: swimmers may not wear a swim cap with a club or high school team logo on it. This is a league rule and if your swimmer only has these types of caps, they can be worn inside out as long as your swimmer does not remove their cap until they exit the water after their race. Wearing a cap is not required, but is strongly suggested. We also wanted to remind everyone to bring their goggles (and an extra pair if you have one!), suits, and towels.
Please remember that we will only be allowing one spectator per family. This is in an effort to keep our swimmers, volunteers, and all others at the meet as safe as possible. Spectators are encouraged to wear a mask, but volunteers must wear a mask.
Warmups for the first meet (swimmers 11 years old and older) will start at 8:00, so it is important that swimmers arrive with plenty of time to get ready to swim and make sure they go to the right lane for warmups, as lane assignments will have to change slightly. Warmup will be 10 minutes, with the meet scheduled to start around 8:15. The events in the first half of our meet on Monday should take no more than an hour and a half. As such, we are asking that our 10 and under swimmers arrive ready to warm up at 10:00, bearing in mind that those competing in the second half of the meet cannot come into the pool area until the athletes and spectators from the first meet have left and proper sanitization can be taken care of. In the event that the first half of the meet takes longer than we anticipated, we will send out a message via Remind (text “@cwswim2020” to 81010 to join!) with a more appropriate arrival time for our 10 and under swimmers.
The second half of our meet tomorrow should also be done in about an hour and a half, but due to the fact that there are so many swimmers, we will be having two 10-minute warm up sessions. The warmup assignments are attached to this email, however, we are still asking that all swimmers arrive ready to swim at 10 just in case anything changes.
Also attached to this email are the final entries for the meet tomorrow. Please share these entries with your swimmer(s) at some point so that they are aware of what they are swimming (in most cases these events will be the same as what they were told at practice on Friday). As always, if anyone has any questions please do not hesitate to reach out to ask! We are happy to try to help.
Looking forward to some fast swims tomorrow!
