Message from Coach Claire about Semis and Finals
Our Crestwood swimmers had an AWESOME couple of meets this week at semifinals! Parents, be sure to congratulate your swimmers on a job very well done.
We want to commend those swimmers who achieved personal records at semifinals. All the hard work they put in this season must have paid off! The following Athletes all dropped time in at least one of their events at semis this week:
Stella Thompson, Nora Turton, Khloe Parcels, Michael Gard, Thad Farley, Austin Jones, Alex McBride, Ali South, Lucas McNeely, Carsen Caldwell, Will Stewart, Charley Hall, Chloe Karl, Micah Buskard, Claire Jarosik, Aidan Evans, Nathan Kyre, Grace Buskard, Autumn Parcels, Mikuya Ford, TJ McBride, Luke Farley, Katie Kyre, Calle Caldwell, Tess Schlegel, Takumi Ford, Emily Kyre, Allison Kelley, Camden Caldwell, Isaiah Elliott, Carter Caldwell, and Jacob Bane.
We want to thank all the swimmers, especially the 11&overs, for making sure they were either in Clerk of Course or behind the blocks on time for all of their events last night. We never had to worry about finding kids who weren't where they were supposed to be, which is a huge help.
For those families with swimmers who qualified for finals, this is important! Each year at GDSA finals, there is a parade around the pool before warm-ups. Each team gets a turn walking around the pool before finishing with a team cheer behind the blocks. Each team gets to select a song to be played for their turn in the parade to go with a theme of their choice. I am happy to announce that our theme this year for finals will be Toy Story, in honor of Toy Story 4 coming out earlier this summer! This means that your child (or children) gets to dress up in their best toy story costume for the finals parade! This is a fun and long-standing tradition in the GDSA, and I can't wait to see how creative everyone can be.
Let's have an awesome last meet of the season! Go Cobras!
